Did you know?

For patients who have tried conservative therapies (medications), but continue to have pain in their low back, legs, neck, shoulder, and muscles, there are a variety of new treatments that do NOT involve traditional surgery. These treatments are performed by interventional pain management doctors and provide relief for varying types of pain symptoms.

What kind of pain do we treat?

• Low back and leg pain (radicular pain)
• Neck and shoulder pain (may include radicular arm pain)
• Muscle sprains
• Headaches originating in the back of the neck (occipital neuralgia)
• Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) (swelling, temperature and color changes in the legs and arms)

What procedures do we perform?

At V.I. Pain Management Associates we perform a variety of pain management procedures. These procedures are minimally invasive and guided by x-ray imaging to optimize patient safety. The treatments are percutaneous (performed by a needle through the skin) and do not require surgery. A complete listing of procedures along with images can be seen at our website www.vipain.com.

How long do the procedures take?
Can you go home after the procedure?

Most procedures take 20 to 30 minutes. After the procedure, you are observed for thirty minutes and then sent home in the care of a driver. Patients are asked to make arrangements for a friend or family member to drive them home the day of the visit.

Can my pain be cured?

In most cases pain may be eliminated or significantly decreased. At times patients may need a repeat procedure to obtain maximum treatment benefit.
